Techniques Behind Modern Web

After installing Firefox 3 Beta 5, I found Firebug did not work properly and that led me to the 1.2 branch of this great add-on, in alpha at this time. This build can chuck out some issues but not all. However, the first beta of this branch is expected to come out soon and it should work well with the latest release of Firefox 3.
Some interesting new features you can see in version 1.2 are:
Please find the latest (beta) release here.
Notice: As office Firebug site is down at this time due to a major data center caught on fire (which is where getfirebug.com is hosted
), please download firebug 1.2.0a30X here — it works with Firefox 3 RC2.
Update: Firebug 1.2.0b3 (beta 3 version which works with Firefox 3.0 final) can be installed from Mozilla’s add-on site now.

Erm ja, and how do you install that svn Repos ?
I tried to checkout and run the makexpi, but now i recognized that its a Mac-Skript, which gives me kind of funny errors (doesn’t find its own path) on Linux.
How can I install that?
You can install FB 1.2 directly with this link: http://getfirebug.com/releases/firebug/1.2/firebug-1.2.0a20X.xpi
Cheers
I think the right one is this: http://getfirebug.com/releases/firebug/1.2/firebug-1.2.0a22X.xpi
Is it me or is the getfirebug site broken.
I’ve got 1.2.0a22X and it does work, though I have some problems with the in-window panel resizing - you can only make it smaller, never bigger, with the result that it’s now unusable unless I pop it open in a separate window!
I was finding FF3b5 very unstable (simply crashing spontaneously when idle) so I’ve switched back to 2 for now, which is fine apart form the speed.
@Marcus: I’ve been using FFb5 (on Windows 2003 x64) since it was released and found no problem like what you describe yet.
However, Firebug 1.2 is just in Alpha so that many issues are being reported.
Works fine on Ubuntu 8.04
Thanks for note
After installing Firebug 1.2 works with Firefox 3 Beta 5 (Windows XP SP 2) I often got error box like this : “firefox.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience” ![]()
I’m gonna try this version now. I tried a version 1.2 before but the breakpoints would not work.
