After installing Firefox 3 Beta 5, I found Firebug did not work properly and that led me to the 1.2 branch of this great add-on, in alpha at this time. This build can chuck out some issues but not all. However, the first beta of this branch is expected to come out soon and it should work well with the latest release of Firefox 3.

Some interesting new features you can see in version 1.2 are:

  1. Programmatically disable firebug log from JavaScript
  2. Showing HTTP Status code on NET response
  3. “Break on next” feature for debugging
  4. Improve network monitor to include server-side processing time
  5. New console API

Please find the latest (beta) release here.

Notice: As office Firebug site is down at this time due to a major data center caught on fire (which is where getfirebug.com is hosted :( ), please download firebug 1.2.0a30X here — it works with Firefox 3 RC2.

Update: Firebug 1.2.0b3 (beta 3 version which works with Firefox 3.0 final) can be installed from Mozilla’s add-on site now.
