If Firebug is only reason to prevent you from upgrading to Firefox 3 (beta) you can do that right now because the latest version (1.1, beta too) of Firebug works nicely with it.

Among a lot of bug fixes, some great features of this version are:

  • Supports Firefox 3,
  • eval() debugging,
  • browser-generated event handler debugging,
  • executable lines marked with green line numbers,
  • user-controlled naming of eval() buffers,
  • clearer debugging icons,
  • internal firebug debug output,
  • external editor interface,
  • Stack side panel on “Script” panel for callstack,
  • CSS errors report against source lines

Firebug is one of the most important add-ons I couldn’t live without and makes Firefox being the best friend of web developers/designers. Thanks John J Barton!

Please download and install the latest version of Firebug here.

Notice: As office Firebug site is down at this time due to a major data center caught on fire (which is where getfirebug.com is hosted :( ). Please download firebug 1.2.0a30X here — it works with Firefox 3 RC2.

Update: Firebug 1.2.0b3 (beta 3 version) can be installed from Mozilla’s add-on site now.
